The Hudson Park Library is now featuring a show of some local artists:
"10 Artists of the BBC Block Association - Nov 13 to January 3, 2013
If there is any theme to this show, it might be this: that the interior journey each artist makes to define the meaning of Art for them, and then to evolve toward their own particular vision, was made -or enhanced- while living within mere blocks of eachother. Perhaps that makes this little exhibit a paean to both the diversity and inherent haven of our home base. Both as artists and as neighbors, we tend to take it for granted. We shouldn't.
We dedicate this exhibit to our late beloved neighbor Cecily Fortescue & her wonderful husband, Arnold Friedman. Their kindness & wit have flavored all our lives subtly, gently for years. Cecily made her final two pieces for this show. Only Cecily would give wall-vases their gravity-defying wings made from the earthy heft of stoneware. BRAVA Cecily!
